I just don't really like livetext. I'm not sold yet and am having trouble finding real perks to the organization of it. I don't know how much more likely I would be to show this to an employer than another type of portfolio. Can anyone convince me that livetext is great?

I would not dare to try to convince you that LiveText is great. However I can show you some options for creating a multimedia portfolio that is easy to share with administrators and contains the three things that administrators want to see:
1. resume
2. short video
3. 1-2 artifacts that prove student centered achievement.
The Livetext system is a neccessary tool that allows the Ohio University faculty and administrators to prove that you are mastering standards that will make you a good teacher someday or at least improving in those areas.
I know purchasing LiveText feels unfair but it is another quality control measure no different than the praxis series of tests that you will take and pay even more $ to have the honor complete.
Big Tom is right about the college needing to show they are meeting the standards(And want the students to spring for it). It would be nice if administrators would accept Livetext in interviews(Many would),but their are a lot of people that may not computer knowledgeable enough to take advantage of it. Speaking of Praxis the tests are changing just when I need to take them and it's confusing me, Help!
I am told that you can use the current study guides to help prepare for the new version of the praxis exam. You can purchase a study guide from the ETS website, or borrow one from the CTC on the second floor of McCracken. You can also download the free "tests at a glance" from the ETS website to get an overview of the different kinds of questions/content.
I suppose we could argue that electronic portfolios and resumes are more "green"!
I am always up for saving trees!
