Last Question: Review Process

Has the review process for Livetext improved compared to the last version? Has it been easier or have unexpected problems emerged?

Yes, it was very nice the Dr. Gut could go in and address the individual areas we need to change in Lesson plans. I don't think that was an option on the earlier version. Her comments can personally communicate why and what her purpose was behind our assessment.

I think this version is no more difficult than the old version. However I strongly feel that OU needs to provide some form of tangible manual as well as electronic for students who must purchase this as part of their coursework. Some students are not as familiar with or more intimidated by electronic manuals and for some depending on the area, local internet connection may be slow and thus time consuming. The most frustrating aspect of LiveText throughout my course of study was that at times I was learning while faculty was learning and the lack of knowledge of where to find outlets for help.

I like the way comments can be accessed right on the pages from Dianne. However, I really still think though, overall, livetext is just difficult and cumbersome to navigate and it leaves one quite frustrated in the end. It just doesn't flow or make sense a lot of times.

I like that we have the option to view comments, but I'm always having problems viewing them. It seems like they're never there when I go to look for them. It could just be my personal laptop, though, because I've been getting "Error on Page" messages when I try to click "Edit" on certain assignment sections in LiveText. I've been able to edit sections on other computers...hmmm...

The review process seems to be a little less accessible right now. I'm not sure if that is just because it is a new set up or if there are some problems with new livetext. I have to agree with most of my classmates about the general negative attitude towards livetext. If the reason we have it is for accreditation, then it should not be our responsiblity as students to purchase, figure out and submit non-applicable documents on livetext. I have not yet been convinced of a practical application that I would use.
Sorry Tom- no issue with you of course!! Thanks for all of your help this quarter
